When Snow Dancer was scheduled to come out as a limited edition miniature carousel reproduction, she didn't have a classy name. This was during the winter of 95-96 when we had record snows. Since her leg positions make her look like she's dancing, she received the name Snow Dancer.
She is a rare one, carved with a closed mouth. Looff was the only carver who made these sweet faced horses. He also disliked horses that had tongues hanging, as he said that they frightened the children.
Snow Dancer is available as a limited edition miniature carousel reproduction (by Jerry Reinhardt) through the
Riverfront Park gift shop!
